Hifibutikken B.V. is a small, independent importer/exporter of consumer electronics and other retail goods across Europe. We have operated for just over 5 years, buying excess bulk stock and reselling it on the wholesale market for profit. The primary operation and administration of the company is done from Israel.
Hifibutikken B.V. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student to support a set-period project analyzing our company's operations and financials. The role involves thorough review of financial data, process mapping, regulatory assessment, and preparing a report on optimization opportunities and/or risks (particularly in terms of accounting and regulation adherence). A flat sum will be paid upon delivery of the final report. Exceptional performance may lead to a long-term, part-time role assisting with sales operations and ongoing accounting tasks.
Given that we are a small and independent organization, you will have enormous freedom. You can work at your leisure, and the only metric we care about is results/quality of the deliverables. Additionally, as mentioned in the description, we are looking for someone to play an integral part in the operating of our company. If you perform well during this initial task, we will likely offer you a long-term position to help us operate and grow our business. We are a very small team, but have a highly profitable and proven business model. If you are ambitious and entrepreneurial, and prove your capability, you could stand to be very well compensated (i.e. earnings share), while having a high degree of autonomy and input in how our business moves forward.
Key Responsibilities: - Analyze and model company operational and financial data. - Systematically collect, organize, and evaluate financial records and accounting processes. - Assess adherence to relevant regulations and accounting standards. - Identify and recommend process improvements and optimization opportunities. - Finally, prepare a comprehensive written report, including actionable insights and supporting data. Qualifications - Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. - Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis - ideally with particular insight relevant to Dutch accounting practices/law. - Analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills. - Good competency in English is required. Dutch language skills is a strong benefit, but not a hard requirement. - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. - Prior coursework or hands-on experience in accounting or finance preferred. Hifibutikken B.V. is a very small organization. We need someone who can work independently, and deliver a useful insight for us without supervision or traditional corporate structure. You should treat this much like a paid assignment (i.e. Business Plan or similar).
