Founded in 1911 by Lucien L. Nunn, Telluride Association is a distinguished nonprofit organization dedicated to creating and fostering unique educational opportunities that prepare and inspire promising students to lead and serve. Through free, transformative educational experiences rooted in critical thinking and democratic community, Telluride Association has cultivated a remarkable legacy of excellence, counting among its distinguished alumni Nobel laureate Steven Weinberg, Francis Fukuyama, Gayatri Spivak, and many other influential leaders and scholars, while welcoming renowned faculty guests such as Michel Foucault, Richard Feynman, and Linus Pauling. Telluride Association sponsors a rich variety of programs for students at every stage of their educational journey — from high school sophomores and juniors through university and graduate students — including the highly regarded Telluride Association Summer Programs (TASP) and Telluride Association Sophomore Seminars (TASS), which bring together intellectually passionate young people from around the world for seminar-based learning and meaningful community engagement. Through its branches at the University of Michigan and Cornell University, Telluride Association also provides room and board scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students, reinforcing its enduring commitment to making transformative education accessible to the next generation of leaders.
