There are loads of reasons why having a paper round is so beneficial for you as a student: it’s
great to combine with your study, perfect as a second job, it keeps you fit and gives you
some free time to enjoy the beautiful Dutch scenery.
Starting the day:
It might be an early start but that is exactly why this job is so perfect. You get up and cycle to
what we call the depot. This depot will be in your neighborhood and it’s where you pick up
your newspapers in the morning. You deliver multiple brands of newspapers, from regional
to nationwide like ‘De Telegraaf’. At the depot you will receive your route for the day with
all the addresses where you need to deliver the newspapers.
Once you’ve got all your newspapers you jump back on your bike and deliver ‘The news of
the day’ to all the subscribers in your area.
